Photolisting Profile for Erwin
Erwin is a 9-year-old boy from Washington who is hoping to be adopted.
A slender boy of medium height, Erwin has dark brown/black hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion. Erwin loves video games, cartoons, comics, Batman, Scooby Doo, and Transformers. Riding his bike and playing sports are fun for him too, although his attention span is short. Through continuing connections including while living with relatives Erwin has remained involved in his Native culture and at a traditional wedding in 2007 he participated in a grass dance.
A single parent with lots of experience and support or a two parent family is being sought. The preferred family will have Native American/Hispanic ancestry or ties to these communities so that Erwin can remain immersed in his culture. His Tribe may consider a Non-native family in adopting him, as they have with his older sister. It will be important for him to maintain contact with his siblings and relatives. Older siblings are fine for Erwin as he can get along well with them and will benefit from pro-social role modeling. A family with a good understanding of the effects of multiple separations from primary attachment figures and self-esteem/identity development is critical. Parents able to give Erwin significant amounts of 1:1 time and affection while allowing him to not feel pressured to quickly give back emotionally will do well. Erwin’s tribe is supportive of his plan for adoption and will participate in decision-making for his placement.
