Felipe's sister, Marina, is two years older than he is. They have a strong attachment to each other. Felipe tends to be protective of his sister due to her challenges of understanding her environment and the intentions of others. Felipe needs significant assistance in school especially with reading and writing. Felipe responds well to his small classroom setting where he can receive individualized attention. Felipe requires patience and attention. He does not fully understand his emotions and has trouble explaining how he feels. He seeks attention through positive and negative behaviors. Positive redirection is a good behavior modifcation technique for Felipe.

Marina and Felipe are very bonded to each other. They have a strong sibling attachment and are the best of friends. They enjoy participating in activities together and get along very well most of the time. However, they are typical siblings in that they know which "buttons" to push to irritate each other. Even though Felipe is the younger of the two siblings, he is very protective of his sister. Felipe needs a home where he is constantly supervised and given an opportunity to address his academic struggles. Felipe and his sister need a patient family who will be sensitive to the children's needs. Felipe needs to be given time to adjust to the new environment and family expectations.
