Freddie is a 12-year-old boy from North Carolina who is hoping to be adopted.

Compassionate, lovable, energetic, and playful are words used to describe Freddie. He loves to do chores, especially yard work. He likes being praised and recognized for his helpfulness and responds by wanting to do even more. Freddie has boundless energy and loves to play outdoors, riding his bike or scooter, swimming, or any other high level activity. About the only “indoor” acivity he likes is Tae Kwon Do, for which he has a green belt. Freddie also enjoyed participating in the local Special Olympics where he received several awards, including first place for running. Freddie attends a special resource class where he receives speech services to help him with social and communication skills. This small class also allows him to be more in compliance with attention and boundaries. Therapy focuses on these issues, as well as relationships, anxiety, and appropriate school behavior. He has made significant progress and is now able to be more open, identify his feelings, and demonstrate his respect for others. Freddie currently lives in a single-parent home with no other children. He has responded very well to the individualized attention he receives and it is believed that this type setting would benefit him the most. If there are other children, there should be no more than one. Freddie needs a family willing to commit to him and to his challenges. He needs nurturing, stability, structure, consistency, and support. Freddie will also benefit from his adoptive parent spending time with him on academics, as well as social skills. He has brothers with whom contact should be permitted.
