Photolisting Profile for Gregory
Gregory is a 10-year-old boy from Oregon who is hoping to be adopted.
The eldest of this sibling group is Brennan. He’s friendly and polite but intently focused when he’s involved in a science project or a playing his guitar (which he does very well). He’s at the top of his class and dreams of going to the University of Oregon after High School. Brennan says he is most proud of his “academic excellence.” With time, Brennan will warm up and converse freely about a wide range of topics; he’s very bright and quite interesting to talk with. He’s been involved in some sports at school and would like to do more, though sports are not his primary interest. He is clearly bonded to his younger siblings, Gregory and Angel, and though Brennan is challenged with symptom logy of Asperger’s syndrome, he shares their sense of humor and sense of adventure; they all love to travel. Gregory is a little quicker to warm up and sit close by, if some attention is paid to him and his interests, which are Bakagun (a card/action figure game) and any kind if play-acting involving his imagination, Spiderman, Star Wars and twirling in circles.
Gregory and Angel are particularly close; they both love soccer and play together nicely, but the boys share a sometimes not so quiet anger about being separated from their parents and an 11 year old sister (who is placed separately due to behavior issues). Supervised visits with their sister occur monthly and it is the children’s hope that they will be able to maintain some kind of contact in the future.
Angel is just that! She is sweet and cuddly, smart and outgoing. She has a vivid imagination and is pleasant to be around. Angel is easily understood, but working on her language skills through classes at school. She reads and writes very well and like her brothers, has a high IQ. These children have been in foster for 2 years and very much want a forever family. All three have been in counseling to help them deal with their individual and collective circumstances, and they’ve each made significant progress, but they need committed, experienced parents who can support their special needs and accept them as the unique individuals that they are. Parents who can and will actively participate in what interests them: music, art, sports, imaginary play and academia. The children “hope to find a Christian family with two parents, one or two older kids and a dog and cat.” They also hope their adoptive family “will be kind.” With such parents, Brennan, Gregory and Angel will have bright and happy futures ahead of them.
