Haleigh requires a high level of care because she has a lot of medical issues to handle. Her future level of functioning is unknown at this time. She has many needs, although her health has improved and has remained fairly stable since coming into care. She is able to laugh, smile, and cry to demonstrate happiness or discomfort. With educational services, she has shown emerging skills in the areas of turn-taking in conversations, eye gaze, responding to yes/no questions and in grasping a hairbrush, washcloth or a spoon. Haleigh has many challenges to overcome, and her family must be unconditionally committed to being a resource for the endless amount of TLC she needs and ensuring that intervention services are provided on Haleigh’s behalf.
