Harriniqua is an 8-year-old girl from Texas who is hoping to be adopted.
Harriniqua is initially shy but becomes more friendly and social once she gets to know someone. She is also described as sweet and playful. Likes to make friends, and is more of a leader than a follower. Harriniqua enjoys playing with dolls and all kinds of toys. She loves to play outside and loves to ride her bike. She likes all kinds of food, but especially likes spaghetti or pizza. She really enjoys music and likes to dance. She is a little bossy and likes telling her peers what to do. She interacts fairly well with adults, but does not really like being told what to do. Harraniqa does well in school. Her caregivers report that she is a very happy child and loves to smile. She enjoys being active and loves to do new things. Harriniqua needs help following directions and she can stand her ground when given consequences. She will react and cry or get very upset when redirected or is required to follow a consequence. Her crying or anger can last a while.
Jason, Ivory and Harriniqua were displaced by Hurricane Katrina and subsequently came into state's care. Being separated from their birth parents and each other has been challenging; however, they remain resilient and hopeful that an adoptive family will make a lifelong commitment to them and give them a fresh start on life. The family who will adopt Harriniqua and her siblings must be very patient and loving. These children need a family with big hearts and a willingness to provide a safe loving supportive forever home for Harriniqua and her siblings. It is also believed that Harriniqua as well as her siblings would benefit from a family with a strong male role model.
