Itzel is a bright, engaging, articulate youth. She gets along well with adults and easily makes friends with her peers. Itzel likes to be in charge and appears to have natural leadership abilities. However, she can become uncooperative and likes to make her point when she does not get her way both at home and at school. Itzel is very active and can excel in sports. In school, Itzel receives special classes due to her propensity to become uncooperative and demanding. Through therapy, she has made tremendous progress as she has come to understand what she needs to do when she becomes frustrated.

Itzel and Arjel are an energetic twosome who enjoy being together. After overcoming the past challenges, they now have a close and happy relationship. When together, they warmly greet each other and have big smiles on their faces. They continue to have their occasional conflicts, but make no mistake about it, they love and care for one another. Itzel needs to be in a home where there are consistent rules, boundaries, and expectations. The family must be able to appropriately address her when she tests limits and challenge their authority. Itzel also has a tendency to want to parent Arjel and this will need to be corrected as well. It will be important for Itzel to receive ongoing therapy to build upon her established progress, help her transition into her new home, and address living with her brother. Itzel enjoys being active and being with her peers, so it is important for her to participate in extracurricular activities that will promote self-esteem and socialization skills. Itzel and her brother would thrive in a home with no other children.
