Ja’Darrius, who likes to be called JD, is a laid back and charming boy. He is a good comedian and loves to laugh as well as make others laugh. JD enjoys riding his bike, swimming, bowling, and playing putt-putt. He is an active and athletic boy with a strong arm for throwing a football. JD would like to be a professional football player when he grows up.
JD is a highly intelligent boy who needs to make the effort of working up to his potential. His teachers say he is a natural born leader and needs to learn how to direct those skills in a positive direction. JD attends counseling and is slowly developing trust with his therapist. He will be learning how to display his negative feelings and frustrations in appropriate ways.
JD can be a loving boy when he learns to trust the adults in his life. An adoptive family for JD must be willing to participate in his therapy. They should be willing to help him put that work into practice in the home and school environments. Through adoption, JD will have the opportunity to continue his progress in healing and be able to experience love, trust, support, and unconditional acceptance. JD has been disappointed by many adults in his life and must be assured that his adoptive family is totally committed to him.
