Jason is a 7-year-old boy from Oregon who is hoping to be adopted.

Jason, Edwin, and Alicia are three darling, lively siblings who have the ability to endear themselves to nearly everyone with whom they come into contact. Despite the loss they've already experienced in their short lives, they remain generally happy, curious children with a zest for fun and adventure. Jason and Edwin are ''all boy'' and love any activity that gets them outside and running. They love riding their bikes and playing with cars, trucks, and balls. They love each other and have been each other's only constant life companion, but they can also be quite competitive, especially for their birth mother's or foster parent's attention. As the oldest, Jason is more observant and sensitive to other's needs and will voluntarily help entertain or care for Alicia. Edwin is more carefree and laughs a bit easier and louder than Jason. Alicia, who has enjoyed the most stability of the three children, is well adjusted, easy going, and mellow. She adores her older brothers and laughs constantly at their antics. If her brothers are ''all boy,'' Alicia is most certainly ''all girl.'' She carries a purse or a bag with her wherever she goes and loves all things ''princess.'' She also loves being outside and does her best to keep up with the big kids.

Jason, Edwin, and Alicia are very bonded with each other, and it is certainly in their best interest to have an opportunity to grow up together. Jason and Edwin have always lived together, but other than the brief period they were all with their birth mother, all three children have never had an opportunity to live together. They see each other twice per week and clearly know that they are each others siblings. DHS is expecting mediation with respect to the children's mother. Despite relinquishing her parental rights, she has continued to visit regularly with the children, and Jason in particular is very attached to her. It will be important for Jason (and therefore for the other two as well) to have on-going knowledge of where she is and how she is doing. The nature and frequency of the contact will be determined jointly by the adoptive family and the caseworker.

Jason, Edwin, and Alicia deserve to have a committed and nurturing adoptive family to call their own. Their short lives have been filled with daily uncertainty and profound loss. They are each doing an amazing job surviving each day and doing their best to grow and learn, but given their lack of a known permanent home, they have not had the opportunity to feel truly secure and demonstrate their best qualities. Jason and Edwin will continue to need on-going therapy to help them separate from their birth mother and bond with an adoptive family.

They have never had an opportunity to be a part of any kind of sports team. Although seemingly insignificant, playing a sport and being part of a team would likely help greatly with Edwin's high energy as well as both boys' sense of belonging and self-esteem. Any adoptive family will also need to be creative and assertive in accessing appropriate services for the children should new challenges arise.
