Jaymes is an energetic young boy. He loves to go outside to play. He especially loves to run around on the playground. Jaymes also enjoys toys that light up and make noise. Jaymes participates in regular outings like going to church, out to eat, to the park, shopping, and going to the movies. Jaymes receives special education, speech, and occupational therapy. Jaymes doesn't like being in trouble and likes to have control. He will sometimes get angry if he does not get his way. Jaymes has Autistic Spectrum Disorder and requires a lot of visual interaction. He has also been diagnosed with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. He loves snacks and eats very well. He requires Ensure to help him gain weight. Jaymes does fairly well with other children in school. Jaymes has mastered string beads and making progress in block design. He has made progress in saying some words clearly. He does well with work from picture cards. He plays in close proximity to his peers, but does not engage with them. Jaymes has made improvements in following directions both in the classroom and in therapy. Jaymes' family will need to be patient with Jaymes. His parents should be resourceful in helping him with his everyday learning and growth. They should give Jaymes extra individual time, love, and support. Jaymes deserves a family who will be committed to him throughout adulthood. He needs a family who will be attentive and able to provide him with emotional support. His family will need to advocate for Jaymes in order to meet his therapeutic and educational needs.
