Jekal is a 7-year-old boy from Georgia who is hoping to be adopted.
Iyana and her siblings, Jekal and Mauricea, are fun loving African-American children born 7/98, 10/02 and 7/06. Iyana is a happy and optimistic child. She is described as a “spiritual” youth who finds much comfort in the church. Iyana has aspirations of becoming a preacher in the future. As an active child, she enjoys laughing, singing, dancing and jumping rope. Enrolled in special education classes for children with emotional and behavioral issues, Iyana’s academic needs are also addressed. Jekal has a warm smile that will melt anyone’s heart. With his great sense of humor, he loves playing practical jokes on others and saying “I gotcha!” Full of energy, Jekal’s favorite activities include bike riding, swimming, climbing and playing sports, especially basketball. As an adult, he wants to be a professional basketball player. Enrolled in regular classes, Jekal is a bright and articulate student who excels in all subjects. Mauricea is a sweet and outgoing child. Like most little girls, she enjoys pretending, playing with dolls and toy household/kitchen sets. Mauricea also loves singing, dancing, reading, drawing and watching children’s programs especially, “Dora the Explorer”, “Sesame Street” and “Barney”. At times, her behaviors can be challenging. Behavioral management techniques are in place to redirect her actions. These special siblings require a lot of attention. They need a strong, patient, active and committed family, one who can love each child unconditionally while ensuring that their individual needs are being met. Ongoing therapy to address issues stemming from a difficult past is necessary.Disclaimer
