Jessica is described by her foster mom as a sweet and adorable child. She tries to do well in everything she undertakes. Diagnosed with Familial Benign Chorea, she has both health and emotional conditions associated with the disease as well as some developmental delays. She complains a lot about minor aches and pains. Jessica recently attended a camp for children with disabilities and had lots of fun. Although she works hard at school, she needs assistance through special education services for speech and motor skills. She can play and interact with peers, but she prefers working with her hands and doing arts and crafts activities. She likes to get her own way. Jessica participates with friends and siblings as much as she is able and enjoys taking care of her pet pig. She enjoys being the only girl in the family. She has difficulty with speech and movement and receives speech and physical therapy twice a week. She can follow the rules, but gets upset when she does not get what she wants and tantrums may result.

These two siblings, Jessica and James, are very close and want to remain together. Jessica has been diagnosed with Familial Benign Chorea, but her brother James is healthy. Jessica and James have a younger brother and an older sister, who will be placed separately. Allowing continued contact with the siblings is important to the children. Jessica and James need a parent or parents that can meet the needs of a thriving adolescent as well as a sibling with significant health issues.
