Despite a diagnosis of DiGeorge Syndrome, Jocelyn’s independent spirit and iron-clad will have helped her accomplish things in her foster home she never before could do. “It was amazing,” boasted her foster mom, “she just watched me play, and then sat down and did it herself!” Besides quickly mastering a puzzling computer game, Jocelyn, known affectionately as J.J., learned to buckle her seat belt and to dress herself all after never having to do so before. Her longest-term accomplishment, however, is that she has formed loyal relationships with teachers, her foster family, and friends of all ages. J.J. is waiting for you to support her in her diagnosis, praise her in her accomplishments, and love her in her challenges. If you’re lucky, she might even sing you a line from her favorite star, Hannah Montana! Watch out, Hollywood!
