Joel is a 14-year-old boy from Texas who is hoping to be adopted.

Joel, or "Andrew", as he prefers to be called, is a very outgoing young man. He has very good manners, always saying "yes or no ma'am/sir". He enjoys being outside whether he's playing golf or shooting hoops. He likes helping his foster parents in the yard, and was very sucessful with growing cucumbers and pumpkins this last year. He likes reading and math at school, Algebra being his favorite subject. He usually does well in school and can make straight A's when he applies himself. At times he has difficulty with authority, and will try to run the show if given the opportunity. Andrew gets along best with older children, and thrives when he is the center of attention. Andrew likes to be involved with church and hopes to find a family who shares his faith. He needs a forever family who consistent and patient, allowing him time to grow comfortable in his new home. His parents will be firm with him, but still able to enjoy his affectionate side.
