Jose is a fifteen year old energetic, humorous, and fun loving young man. He is Puerto Rican and his heritage is very important to him. Jose enjoys playing video games, is good at drawing, and is learning to dance. Recently he has attended a summer camp where he was a mentor for younger children. He enjoyed teaching the children sports and jumping on the trampoline. Jose is very leery of making new relationships but once he opens up and builds trust, he becomes a very loyal individual with a big heart. He has one older sister that he is very close too. Jose is a very loving individual. He has such a tremendous sense of humor that he keeps people laughing the whole time they are talking to him. Jose is in the ninth grade. Jose does have a special educational plan at school which helps to keep him focused on tasks. He wants to go to college and become a movie director. He dreams of a future where he can be part of a family. Jose needs a family who will love him unconditionally and provide him with support to help him pursue his dreams. He needs to know that he is truly cared about and free to express himself. He will be successful as long as his family will not give up on him regardless of his ups and downs and it is important that they voice this to him. Jose feels loved and safe when he is allowed to be himself and is not restrained to act a certain way. He needs parents who will be firm with him and who will provide him with a structured home environment. He needs to continue therapy to help him understand his family situation. Currently he attends individual therapy sessions and group sessions for young males. He is working on improving his communication, especially when he is angry. Jose loves his Puerto Rican culture and talks frequently about it. He loves the food and the big family gatherings. It is important to him that he be adopted by a Puerto Rican family and he is adamant about this. He would be most successful as an only child or the youngest child in the family.
