Jose is a healthy active child who enjoys most outdoor activities. He has mastered the skill of caring for his cowboy boots and hat, possessions that he takes pride in owning. He says he would rather live in the country as he is currently around horses and dogs. An outdoor fan, Jose likes fishing, playing basketball and watching football. His favorite football team is the Kansas City Chiefs. His favorite food is tamales and he would like to have a pet Beta fish. Jose does well in school, both academically and behaviorally. He received an excellent mark in his fine art class and scored 85% or higher in the other classes. In physical education, Jose participates and has positive peer relationships. He has shown respect for his teachers and responds positively to encouragement. Jose has two sisters who are in an adoptive placement and contact with them continues. Jose deals daily with the loss and separation from his siblings. He would like to remain in contact with them after adoption. Jose would like to be a part of a family with older siblings. He wants to live in the country and be around horses and other farm animals. The family would allow and encourage sibling visits. The home atmosphere must be structured and nurturing and assist Jose with the day-to-day emotional issues. The family will assure his therapeutic needs continue to be met.
