Joseph enjoys being outside and is really interested in learning more about nature. He likes walking through the woods to identify different types of birds, insects and plant life. Joseph has stated that he would like to be a biologist some day. Joseph enjoys drawing and has an interest in pursuing painting and chalk drawings. Joseph likes listening to heavy metal and watching action movies. He is workign on developing positive anger management techiques and establishing appropriate boundaries with others. Joseph is trying to develop appropriate skills to get along better with others. He would like a family with pets or on a farm so that he can stay busy. Joseph's counselors report that Joseph can be very determined and can accomplish anything if he puts his mind to it. His therapist reports that Joseph needs a family that will be understanding his past and will give him time to develop a trusting relationship. Joseph needs a family that will commit to him and understand that he has experienced a great deal of loss in his life. A family will need to be supportive of him and help him process those losses by participating in counseling. A family will need to understand that Joseph has learned poor coping strategies an is in the process of developign more effective methods of coping with challenges and frustrations. They will need to be active with him in the school system as he learning positive social and anger management skills. Joseph would like to have a family that will support him.
