Joseph is a 5-year-old boy from Texas who is hoping to be adopted.

Joesph "Joey" is a bright, curious little boy. He is very friendly and inquisitive. He is happy most of the time and is appreciative of things that are given to him. He likes to hug and to be held. Joey likes to play outside, swim and go on outings with his foster family. He also enjoys watching Blue's Clues. He wants to learn how to play soccer and loves to play with dirt bikes, motorcycles and cars. He dislikes eating fresh fruit but likes most other foods. He loves fruit juice and Sprite. Joey is a friendly child, who does not know a stranger and is able to form healthy attachments. He however does not do well around animals or younger children. Joey needs help learning how to interact with younger children. He interacts better with older children and adults. Joey's foster parents note that he can be charming and sweet but his disposition can change suddenly. He is very smart and likeable, but his irritability can be very demanding. Joey will benefit most from a structured home with a regular routine. He can become overly stimulated in busy and unstructured environments. Therefore the adoptive family will need to continue working with him on learning appropriate social skills. It is recommended that there should be only older children or no other children in the home or pets. He can further benefit from participating in extra-curricular activities that will challenge is energetic nature.
