Photolisting Profile for Josue

Josue is an 8-year-old boy from North Carolina who is hoping to be adopted.

Little Josue (pronounced 'ho-sway') is a very special boy with a rare neurodegenerative disorder. This disorder prevents Josue from communicating verbally, so he must convey his needs by crying out and moving his arms and legs. This disorder has also created developmental delays and mental retardation. Josue is confined to a wheelchair and requires being fed through a tube. He responds better to faces than to objects regarding visual stimulus. Josue receives schooling through the county public school where he lives. He currently receives wrap-around services that include physical and occupational therapy, as well as services for the blind through the Governor Moorehead School for the Blind. Josue is a lovable child that requires a patient, committed family that can provide a safe, nurturing, and healthy environment. A two-parent family is necessary to provide the medical attention he requires around the clock and it would be most beneficial for them to have experience working with medically fragile children with extreme special needs.
