Karmen is a 5-year-old girl from Texas who is hoping to be adopted.

Karmen is a ray of sunshine. She may not be able to see you but she can definitely feel your presence and she likes to let her presence be known as well. Karmen is a very loveable child. She loves attention and responds to sounds by nodding in your direction. She is a happy child who loves to smile and be entertained. She is an affectionate child and loves to be hugged and talked to. Karmen has a calmness and gentleness about her that can put anyone at ease. Karmen is physically challenged but she doesn't let that get in the way of giving that infectious smile. She is diagnosed with diabetes insipidus, seizure disorder, agenisis of the corpus callousum (brain disorder)and legal blindness. She receives her nutrition by G-tube. Karmen can show her feelings when she is upset and does need regular supervision. Karmen cannot communicate verbally but can and will make sounds. Karmen would do well in a home that is patient and has willing to learn to care for her needs. She will require a lot of attention and therefore the caregiver should have a lot of support.
