A family to call her own can make all the difference for Katie, an energetic girl who longs to be part of a permanent family. She is charming and inquisitive about life and all its challenges. She loves outdoor activities, and she especially likes horseback riding. Although she says she really enjoys reading and writing stories in her journal, she also says that she does not like math! Katie currently resides in a facility where she attends regular classes. She receives therapy and likes sharing stories with her counselor. Because she has experienced many losses in her young life, Katie will need the support of her new family to learn how to develop a sense of belonging and to learn how to trust and relate to adults. She hopes her new family understands her desire to keep in touch with her siblings. Katie is a young lady with lots of great qualities but sometimes has to be reminded about those great qualities and how to focus on them. She will flourish in a loving environment with a family committed to helping her achieve a bright future.
