A nature lover who enjoys observing plants and insects, Kaylee (DOB:11/90) enjoys outdoor activities. She takes great pride in the vegetables and flowers she grows herself. Kaylee enjoys visiting the farm animals at her present placement. When not outside riding her bicycle or swimming, Kaylee enjoys expanding her creativity with arts and crafts projects, such as coloring, drawing, scrapbooking and piecing together challenging puzzles. Kaylee likes going to the movies, roller-skating, visiting amusement parks and going out to eat. Kyalee thrives on individual attention from adults. She can be quite loving and has an intriguing ability to clearly voice her thoughts and feelings. Kaylee came into DHS custody due to abuse and neglect. Kaylee came into care with two younger brothers who she has maintained contact with. Kaylee has some difficulty in her relationships with other children. Her treatment goals include learning to get along with peers and improving her social skills. Kaylee has gained maturity in these areas. Kaylee generally behaves well in the school setting. She receives special education services, which her team believes will need to continue throughout her educational experience. Kaylee’s adoptive family should be able to provide structure, consistency and nurturance. They should provide stimulating opportunities to help her gain experience and self-assurance, and to improve her social awareness. Kaylee’s parents should be committed to advocating for her educational needs. A two-parent or single parent family, with adequate supports, would be considered, as well as a family with no other children or children much older than Kaylee. A family who is willing to maintain some level of contact with Kaylee’s biological brothers would be ideal.
