Keyvon is an active boy with a great smile. He is shy and can be polite. Keyvon likes both indoor and outdoor activities. When outdoors, he enjoys swimming, skating and going to the water park. When he is indoors, he enjoys playing video games or selecting a good book to read. He also enjoys church activities such as singing in the choir. Keyvon does well in school and his favorite classes are art and handwriting and his least favorite is Math. He also enjoys the book club and picking out new books to read. Keyvon does well with younger children. Keyvon can be very strong willed. He will annoy others if he feels that their actions are negative towards him. Keyvon needs help to be cooperative and may refuse to comply with request and rules. He needs redirection when responding to verbal directives and when completing chores. He is learning new skills to manage his behavior. He is motivated by an allowance in order to complete his chores and looks forward to spending his allowance on a treat or toy. Keyvon has stated that he desires "a family who will treat him nice". He would prefer "parents who look like him" or as he has quoted in regards to race, "mix it up". Keyvon has two brothers who he would like continued contact with. The adoptive family will need to be open to contact if it is in Keyvon's best interest. Keyvon would like other children in his adoptive home. Keyvon is in need of family who can provide structure and supervision. He deserves a family who can appreciate his positive qualities and who will work with him one on one to help him manage any behavioral issues. His adoptive family will need to have parenting experience, be firm and understanding, and support him unconditionally.
