L.J. is a beautiful little boy with a sweet demeanor and kind heart. His innocence is one of the things that makes him so special to people. Watching L.J. explore the world and hearing his soft, sweet voice makes everyone want to sweep him up and hug him tight. L.J.’s favorite toy and activity are drawing with the Magna Doodle, which he can do for hours at a time. He also enjoys riding his tricycle. L.J. attends special classes at school where he is able to work at his own level and pace. Having teachers understand his delays and other issues is imperative for L.J. to succeed. Counseling is helping him understand his medically-related craving for food. L.J. suffers from Prader Willi syndrome, a disorder that prevents him from ever feeling full, so he is in constant search for food. Because of this medical need, L.J. must be constantly supervised. An adoptive family for L.J. must have the ability to do what is best for him concerning his diet, even though it will be hard not to give in. They should also be open to his closeness and frequent visits and contact with both of his birth grandmothers.
