Laderrick is a 3-year-old boy from Texas who is hoping to be adopted.

LaDerrick is a rosy bundle of smiles and joy. He is full of laughter and sunshine. LaDerrick has a sweet personality and loves attention. He rewards his caregivers with smiles and echoes of love when they play with him, show him affection or talk to him. LaDerrick has adjusted to being an age equivalent of a 2 month old infant. He requires total care and special equipment such as wheelchair, bath chair, standing frame, suction machine, pulse ox, oxygen and feeding machine. LaDerrick is nonverbal and can not roll over, sit or stand. Although LaDerrick is not capable of verbalizing his needs he does seem to have a special relationship to his Foster mom. It is such a thrill to watch LaDerrick beam at his Foster Mom when she speaks to him. Even when he is sleepy and his eyes are half closed LaDerrick will respond to her very presence. His cheeks are rosy, his eyes twinkle and LaDerrick is cuddly like a teddy bear. LaDerrick will need a life time of care but will provide a life time of love to his new family.

LaDerrick's family will need to be organized and trained to provide care to a medically fragile child. They will ensure that he receives his speech, occupational and physical therapy. His family will ensure that all doctor appointments are kept. They will provide him with a nurturing and loving home.
