Laquisha and Shaquita are as different as night and day, but just as close as two peas in a pod. They need to find a nurturing adoptive family that will love and cherish them both.
Laquisha’s easygoing nature and ability to excel in just about everything she attempts make her a very popular girl. She is well-mannered and well-spoken. Her nurturing nature makes young children cling to her, while older people lover her because she shows them respect. Laquisha is very athletic and loves all sports, but basketball and football are her favorites. She loves to draw and can draw just about anything she sees. Laquisha is active in the Y-Teens club after school and helps out with the younger children there. She belongs to the basketball league and won a one-on-one basketball tournament there. One of her goals is to jump out of an airplane. Laquisha loves school and works hard to maintain her A’s and B’s. She is open to and easily adapts to different ways of approaching things.
Her foster mom says Shaquita is a real “girlie girl”. She loves to dress up in nice clothes and loves baby dolls. She is very energetic and has a wonderfully bubbly personality. Shaquita loves to dance, step, and do cheers. She is extremely talented at writing and loves to write poems, short stories, and journaling about herself and her relationship with others. Shaquita also enjoys working puzzles, playing cards and checkers or other board games. While she doesn’t care for most sports, Shaquita participates in an after school girls track team. She loves to go to school where she earns average grades. She realizes that by not letting her behaviors get in the way and focusing more, she could do much better. She has significantly improved her relationships and conduct.
Laquisha and Shaquita need an adoptive family who will understand that they are very different from each other and that each one needs to be supported in their abilities and not compared to each other. They each need individual attention and time, as well as fun together on family outings and trips. They have done well in their current home with the support, stability, consistency, and encouragement of their foster parents, and will need to get that from their adoptive parents. Laquisha and Shaquita have other siblings with whom they will need contact.
