Laqulia is a very caring girl with a wonderfully shy smile. She loves to work with young children and hopes to pursue a career in the medical field, preferably as a pediatrician. Laqulia’s foster mom says she is “a caring and loving young lady who is a joy to have in my home.” She enjoys cheerleading and running track at school. Laqulia hopes to be able to earn money soon by babysitting. Laqulia attends classes at the campus where she lives. She has come a long way with her attitude and her feelings about school. Laqulia is working on learning to develop positive peer relationships, how to express herself, and on letting other people “in.” She is also overcoming some food issues and discovering what foods she really likes to eat. Laqulia is very close to her biological sister and nephews and it is vital that her adoptive family embrace those relationships. She needs a family that will provide her with opportunities to build her self-esteem and help her achieve the goals she has set.
