Lavon 'montese' is a 12-year-old boy from Tennessee who is hoping to be adopted.
Lavon "Montese" would like a forever family and to be adopted. When Montese grows up, he would like to work with wildlife animals or “be a superstar”. He said any kind of superstar would be good. Montese makes good grades at school. He typically always makes 2nd honors at school. For the most part, Montese is well behaved at school. He was receiving special education services almost one year ago for speech delays but his speech has greatly improved to the point he no longer needs any special education services. Montese currently plays football in a recreational league but he enjoys all sports. Montese is a well behaved and polite child. His DCS case manager says that she has been Montese’s DCS caseworker since he came into custody and has always been struck by his good manners. He does have some behavior problems and can be defiant but for the most part, he is a good kid. Montese has always been well liked by his teachers and fellow students. Montese does not have any preference of a one parent home versus a two parent home. He does like other children and gets along well with other children. He would prefer an African American home. Montese is currently placed with his half-brother Darius. They recently started living together for the first time in many years. They do fight some as normal brothers do, but enjoy living together and want to continue to live together. Montese does have two other half-siblings that he would like to stay in contact with, Terica and Mimi. Terica and Mimi live with other relative and non-relative placements. Montese and Darius also visit their Uncle Rocky and Aunt Ashley sometimes and would like to continue this contact as well. Montese will need to continue counseling as recommended by his therapist so his adoptive family will need to be supportive of his counseling and perhaps be open to some family counseling if recommended.Disclaimer
