Lisa is a 9-year-old girl from Texas who is hoping to be adopted.

Lisa is a sweet, loveable girl who enjoys going to school. Lisa loves to share with other people especially her peers. In her spare time she can be found demonstrating her artistic skills through her drawings and colorings. She also likes to be outdoors playing with her hula hoop or riding her bike. Lisa enjoys playing with her barbies and watching movies. She also is very involved in her bible study through her church. Lisa loves going to school and art and gym are her favorite classes. She needs to be redirected at times to stay on task because she is easily distracted and loses her focus. Lisa participates in ongoing speech therapy at school as she is only able to communicate with short sentences. Her verbal communication skills have improved greatly, but she continues to have times when she does not want to verbally express herself. Lisa is also working on keeping appropriate boundaries with others. She has a difficult time adjusting to new things, however, she really wants to be adopted. An adoptive family for Lisa will need to be very patient in dealing with her speech challenges. They need to be committed to continuing her ongoing speech therapy. Lisa will do best in a family who understands that the transition to a new home and family may be difficult for her. She needs a family who will provide constant structure and routine. Lisa would love to be in a home that has other girls her age. Lisa has a brother who is not a part of this adoption, but with whom she would like to remain in contact.
