Cheerful and talkative, Maggie always has a smiling face when meeting new people and her friendly nature enables her to get along well with others. Maggie loves playing volleyball and softball and feels she is an asset to her team. She is doing well in her special education classes at school and can often be found spending time helping her classmates. “The best family for me would be there for me. If I have trouble in school, they would tell me to do the right thing. They would be there for me, and take me places. That would hit the spot for me,” Maggie says. Maggie hopes her adoptive family lives in a community that has African American children. She would also like her family to allow her to visit her siblings. A committed single female or a two-parent family with a limited number of older children is needed for Maggie. The adoptive family should be able to spend time with Maggie working with her on any needs. They should be patient and understanding of the fact that there may be some lack of attachment and return of affection by Maggie toward them.
