Photolisting Profile for Marina
Marina is a 14-year-old girl from Texas who is hoping to be adopted.
Marina is very affectionate and positive when she is around people she is bonded to. She is shy at first, but once she learns she can trust a person, she is talkative and energetic. Marina needs to be encouraged to express her emotions in a positive manner. She does not fully understand her own emotions and she has trouble explaining how she feels. If Marina is given an opportunity, she can express what her desires are. She seeks attention through positive and negative behaviors. Marina responds well to positive redirection. Marina loves all kinds of music. She also enjoys watching all varieties of movies. Marina has a brother, Felipe, who is two years younger than she is. They are strongly bonded to each other. Being placed in the same family is very important to Marina and Felipe. Marina states that she loves school but since she has a slower rate of learning, school is a challenge for her. She excels when given the opportunity to attend small classes. However, if Marina is put in a larger classroom, she tends to be lost in the crowd and does not learn as well. Marina has a congenital deformity of her feet that cause her feet to turn outward. She is able to walk, run and play and does not exhibit difficulty unless she is asked to do these activities for an extended period of time.
Marina and Felipe are very bonded to each other. They have a strong sibling attachment and are the best of friends. They enjoy participating in activities together and get along very well most of the time. However, they are typical siblings in that they know which "buttons" to push to irritate each other. Even though Felipe is the younger of the two siblings, he is very protective of his sister. When others, especially children, are around the two of them, Felipe spends most of his time making sure that they are treating his sister right. Visit us at the TARE Gallery.
Marina will best benefit from a family who is willing to adopt both her and her younger brother Felipe. The family needs structure and daily routines. The family needs to be patient and attentive to Marina's needs. Marina needs a family who will provide guidance and an opportunity to address her academic struggles. Marina needs to be given time to adjust to the new environment and family expectations.
