Mark is a 12-year-old boy from Texas who is hoping to be adopted.

Mark is non-verbal but can communicate with his caregiver by watching her mouth and with sign language. Mark is capable of forming healthy attachments. He is very bonded to his foster mother. Mark enjoys watching cartoons, playing with trucks and cars. He loves to put together puzzles, enjoys music and toys that makes sounds. Mark is not potty trained. He has a habit of biting himself on his finger and his finger is flattened from the pressure. He does this as self soothing gesture and does not break the skin. Mark lerans at a slower rate and is mentally challenged. He expresses his emotions through gestures, clapping his hands and moving his arms arounds. Mark receives special educational services in school. He currently receives speech/language therapy and occupational therapy, and is in adaptive PE. He is a wonderful child with a beautiful smile.
