Mark is a 9-year-old boy from Texas who is hoping to be adopted.

Mark is a child with special needs who is very affectionate with others and enjoys interacting with people. Mark enjoys food but his favorite is steak and potatoes. In his spare time, Mark prefers activities that involve water and likes to sit on the couch, by the window, sit on the grass under a tree or simply lie in the sun. Mark is intrigued with things that crinkle. Mark uses sign language as his means of communication and uses a communication board as well. In addition, Mark enjoys his independence and has learned to drink from a sippy cup and is working on using a spoon to feed himself. Mark receives speech, physical, and occupational therapy twice a week. Mark learned how to walk independently and he likes to be on the go and likes to go for walks. Country and Gospel music are at the top of his list for music. Mark enjoys playing with toys that light up and make sound. Mark has Tubular Sclerosis and Autism. Mark receives twelve hours a day assistance from a nurse. Mark likes to be hugged and cuddled. He likes to be rocked and will fall asleep on your lap while you rock him.

Mark will benefit from parents who are experienced and can provide for his special medical needs and are able to provide him with a lot of one-on-one attention and affection. The family will need to be patient and caring for Mark's continued development and progress.
