Martika (9/99) is a very pretty girl who is a ham when it comes to picture taking and who will readily pose but prefers taking the pictures. She is friendly and very outgoing. She always has a smile on her face and something funny to say. In like fashion, Martika’s Social Worker says she is “sweet, likes to laugh and finds many things to be funny.” When she is asked to describe herself she very animatedly says, “I like makeup, playing dress-up, heels, earrings and that girly-girl stuff,” then she adds that she “HATES insects,” and is especially scared of bees and wasps. She said she also likes sleepovers, watching Dora the Explorer on television, and visiting PBSkids.org on the internet. Martika will tell you that she loves going to school. She has lots of friends and tends to make friends easily. Martika does well academically but does have difficulty with math. She is also a good reader and likes to read, and this is sometimes her way to go off by herself into her own little world and block everything and everyone else. Aleacia (10/96) likes to describe herself as a “girly girl.” She is fashionable, loves to wear make-up, and dress in the latest styles. She also loves posing for the camera and having her picture taken. Aleacia is one minute younger than her fraternal twin, Alexicia. Aleacia is very friendly, outgoing, and makes friends easily. She is described as “mothering,” and likes to take care of everything for others. As a result, she gets along better with younger children who are more likely to allow her to “boss” them around. Although school is not Aleacia’s favorite place to be, she does well academically. Her least favorite subject is Math, and her most favorite subject is Art. Her teachers report that Aleacia is smart and likes to get A’s on all her assignments. Alexicia (10/96) is not one to primp, and, unlike her twin sister, she is considered to be somewhat of a tomboy. She loves animals, reading, and science. When the other children are involved in some kind of play activity, she can be found looking for bugs, worms, and plants. Alexicia loves learning about animals and has a vast amount of knowledge about all kinds of animals. Needless to say, her favorite channel is Animal Planet. She often states that her career of choice is to be a zookeeper. When she is not playing in the dirt or with animals, she loves to read. Alexicia does well in school and likes to go to school. She loves Science class, but doesn’t really care for Math class. She currently reads on an eight grade level, three grades above her peer group. Alexicia is generally a very friendly child, particularly with adults. She is very affectionate and enjoys giving hugs. She doesn’t like to be told what to do and at times can be bossy and controlling with peers. Unconditional love, and a place to call home are what Alexicia, her twin sister, Aleacia, and Martika need.
