Matthew is a 16-year-old boy from Kentucky who is hoping to be adopted.

Matthew (9/93) has brown hair and green eyes. He is currently a freshman in high school where he makes very good grades and enjoys learning. He is polite by very shy at times. Matthew enjoys sports especially playing basketball and football. He is an avid University of Kentucky fan. He also likes to play video games indoors but he enjoys being outdoors as well. He also enjoys being around animals. Matthew is very small for his age. Matthew is somewhat resistant to becoming adopted due to his attachment to his foster family and fears of the unknown. But the importance of a permanent family and dealing with his past are issues he is currenlty working on and hopefully will get better with time. The adoptive family for this young man will need to be paitent and understanding in order for Matthew to become comfortable with them so he can slowly form an attachment once he learns to trust them. This permanent family will also need to assist with maintaining his current connection to his foster family.
