Photolisting Profile for Maximus
Maximus is a 6-year-old boy from Texas who is hoping to be adopted.
Maximus (Max) is a beautiful toddler. He is affectionate and loves to be held. He responds to his caregiver's voice with a smile. He was born premature, resulting in him having developmental challenges. Max is diagnosed with cortical blindness, PVL, (Peri-ventricular and is hydrocephalic. Max is currently being fed through a g-tube. Since receiving the g-tube, Max has grown quite a bit and is now looking like a sweet little boy. Max is not able to sit up or crawl. He does, however, scoot. He can rollover. Max loves to roll over in response to voices or sounds that he hears. Max joints are stiff and he is almost bow-legged because his legs are turned in. He will continue to need monitoring for this possible long-term issue. Max is not talking, but he is "cooing and Laughing". Max takes oxygen at night to address his asthma concerns and this is working well for him. Max is receiving occupational, physical, and speech therapy bi-weekly to address his challenges. He also particpates in homebound schooling. His caregivers have reported that he is making good progress and are hopeful that he will continue to do well as he grows. Max will continue to need special services and support during his lifetime. Visit me at the TARE Gallery.
Maximus will need a family who understands and is knowledgeable about caring for children with special medical needs. They must have patience and the desire to care for a child with habilitative needs.
