Mekahla is a 12-year-old girl from Tennessee who is hoping to be adopted.

Mekahla likes to swim, play softball, go shopping for clothes, likes art & drawing, and enjoys music & movies. Mekahla’s therapist says that she needs a two parent home, with a lot of structure. Parents need to be able to deal with a child with multiple behavior issues (Bi-polar, PSST, and ODD), and the home can have a child (or children) older or younger than Mekahla, but no children her age. Mekahla can be a very sweet girl when she wants to, but can also be very defiant and aggressive. Mekahla needs a two parent home that can offer unconditional love and support, in order to help her overcome attachment issues. Mekahla will need help with her schoolwork, as she has an active IEP. She will need help dispensing medication on a timely basis in order to help control her inappropriate behaviors, and her parents will need to attend counseling with her in order to learn how to better deal with her issues.
