Photolisting Profile for Montrell
Montrell is a 15-year-old boy from Alabama who is hoping to be adopted.
Montrell is a handsome, appearing a bit small for his age. He was born in January, 1994. He currently attends a school run by the group home in which he is placed. He has improved in the last few months both academically and behaviorally in school, and his teachers make impressive comments about him. Montrell enjoys playing sports, especially basketball and football, and he loves being outside. He and his brothers love to dance together and are very talented in this area as well; Montrell also likes to rap and sometimes creates his own lyrics.
Montrell can be a challenging young man. He is always eager to show his independence and need for control. He can be quite mischievous and strong-willed. He has to work very hard on controlling his emotions when disappointed, as well as his impulsivity. At the same time, Montrell has potential to do well in life as long as he chooses to use his confidence, resourcefulness and leadership skills in a positive way. Montrell is a proud young man and is very protective of and fiercely loyal to his younger brothers. He has often expressed the desire to be adopted by selected various individuals he's allowed himself to get attached to. Montrell has made progress in his placement; he is still working on goals, including taking responsibility for his actions and submitting to authority figures. Montrell requires a very structured living environment with consistent implementation of rules and boundaries. An ideal adoptive home would be one with both parents but with a strong, male authority figure, a family who understands the needs of teenage boys as well as the unique issues of foster children.
Adoptive parents for these young men should be very patient and committed to being long-term positive role models. This sib group will benefit from living in a structure environment with an adoptive family where both parents are patient and structured and willing to keep them all active. All of them could benefit from a strong, male authority figure.
