Nathan H is a 15-year-old boy from Maine who is hoping to be adopted.

Nathan turned 14 years old in August 2008. He is currently living in a residential facility and is anxious for a family where he can belong. Nathan wants a family to know he is a “great kid that knows how to follow directions.” Nathan has a real passion for the outdoors and especially enjoys fishing and anything related to that sport. He would love to have a family that also likes outdoor activities including fishing. Nathen is curious about nature and is very gentle and kind to animals. He is hoping to try snow boarding this year and likes to try new things. Nathan can be charming, funny, sweet, polite, and he has a great smile. Nathan is working on behaviors that are the result of serious sexual abuse and exposure to domestic violence. He and a younger brother came into DHHS care in January 2001. Hi brother has recently been adopted. Nathen needs guidance in social situations and works best with adults one on one. In school, Nathan sometimes has difficulty completing his work. He may require a home that has access to a day treatment facility but he is also very motivated to be able to attend public school. His most recent report card was all A's. At this time Nathan is not appropriate for a public school setting due to emotional issues exacerbated by his current life situation. Nathan very much wants to be liked and cared about. A home where he will be the only child would be preferable. He will make a great addition to the right energetic, patient, active, family.
