Nick is a 12-year-old boy from North Carolina who is hoping to be adopted.
Nick is a gentle, laid-back, affectionate, and generous boy. He enjoys being busy and having responsibilities, such as his chores, around the house. He is charming, funny, and a joy to be around. People often have to remind themselves that Nick is so young, as he presents as much more mature. He enjoys sports (football, jet skiing, tubing) and would like to play on an organized team. Nick loves being included in planned outings and trips or going to events with a group of people he likes. He thrives on being active and loves being outside. Nick attends mostly regular classes at school except for a resource class where the additional individual attention allows him to remain focused and complete his work. His individual learning plan is to set goals of increasing comprehension, composition, and organizational skills and Nick made fantastic progress in all areas. He attends therapy to address some difficult experiences that have had a large impact on his life. He does best with loss of privileges and when he gets worked up, needs space to compose himself. Nick is mature beyond his years and is quick to intuit upcoming changes in his life and will ask specific questions with information regarding his future. He is accustomed to setting his own schedule, following his own rules, and resists parental oversight. Nick will need an adoptive family that can provide him with the positive reinforcement, consistent structure, and clearly defined rules and boundaries that allow him to be successful in a home. He would like to have an older brother as a positive role model and who will play sports and hang out with him.Agency Child ID: NC01192847
