***UPDATE 9/1/2009*****

This update comes from Nico's current respite provider. Nico continues to do awesome. He has worked all summer on schoolwork and has caught up much of past work he missed. He has joined a puppet ministry program where he has become a leader, the younger kids love him. He has made lots of friends and is still a joy to have. The only problem areas are his ability to do chores and follow thru. As with many boys his room is a mess most times. Other than that he has been a great kid this summer.

Nico was born in the USA on 8/10/96. He was in three foster homes before he was adopted. Currently, he is currently residing in a group home. Nico has done well in this setting and continues to improve everyday. Nico is physically healthy. He has been diagnosed with ADHD and RAD. By report, he also has Fetal Alcohol Effect. He is off all medications and doing very well.

Nico interacts well with peers and adults. Everyone in the home in which he lives wants to befriend him. Nico has some math delays as described on his latest IEP. Nick’s strengths are that he is a very good reader and loves to read. Currently, he is doing very well in school and is motivated to learn. He is a bit of a loner and seems to retreat into his books rather than socialize. Nico can be a hard worker and cooperates fully with the adults and does his chores. He has no issues with hygiene or cleanliness of his personal living space.

Nico enjoys science projects, video games, and bike riding. He is a quiet child who needs a loving family to help him reach his full potential.
