***UPDATE 6/12/07 **** Nico is currently with a new care provider and is said to be doing well in this placment. Also, additional medical inf was recently received and Nico is not FAS or FAE as reoprted previously. Nico was born in the USA on 8/10/96. He has been in the family home since September 1997. He had three foster home placements prior to being placed with these parents. His parents feel that they are no longer able to parent him. He is physically healthy. He has been diagnosed with ADHD, RAD, and ODD. He is on multiple medications to stabilize his behaviors. Nico interacts well with peers, adults and older children but tends to be jealous of his younger siblings. He is currently in the 5th grade in a special education classroom where he receives speech and OT therapy. His family reports that he does well in his structured classroom setting. He did spend time in a residential therapy center where his behaviors did improve. The current family feels that he needs more attention than they can give him due to the fact that they have several younger children. Nico enjoys science projects, video games, and bike riding. He is a quite child that would do best in a family with no children or older child so that he doesn’t feel as though he is competing for the family’s love or attention.
