Pedro is a 12-year-old boy from Texas who is hoping to be adopted.

Pedro prefers to be called "Trey". He is a quiet child, who is soft spoken and introverted until he gets to know someone. He enjoys playing sports, especially basketball and football. Trey also loves bike riding. Trey can be very inquisitive. He has a competitive side and doesn't like to lose. Trey makes good grades most of the time, but can sometimes become distracted and require encouragement to finish a task and sometimes requires assistance with homework. He has struggled some with reading but continues to be successful in school with additional assistance such as after school tutoring and short summer school sessions. Trey is generally respectful of adults and very courteous. He does get along with other children most of the time and while he tends to enjoy time by himself, he also enjoys playing with others. Trey is interesting to talk with and can be fun as he becomes more comfortable with a person. He is very calm for the most part and can be thoughtful during conversation. Trey needs a family who will commit to him for life. They will need to provide him with a structured environment and be very understanding. They need to be strong role models for him, and teach him how to resolve anger issues in healthy ways. He will do well in an urban or rural setting but probably not a farm or ranch, as he is not predisposed to animals. Trey would do well with older siblings who could also serve as role models for him. Siblings would also need to be able to understand Trey and his needs just like the parents.
