Renson

Renson is a 17-year-old boy from Kentucky who is hoping to be adopted.
Renson (11/94) prefers to be called Sam – a name he gave himself after he came to the United States at age 9. Everyone in his life calls him Sam. Sam was born in Guatemala and he came to the states through international adoption. Sam responded poorly to the sudden change, the family dynamic, and the structure of his adoptive home in the U.S. His adoptive parents eventually completed a voluntary termination of their parental rights and Sam entered foster care in 2007. Sam is an interesting, sensitive, and soft-spoken child. He is coming to terms with his past and looking towards his future. Sam is well liked by those around him. He is fluent in English and on track in school, although he is not a huge fan of homework. Sam loves art, soccer, and boxing. Although Sam has struggled with many disappointments and has had to learn how to re-build trust with the world around him, it is a fact that he has made great strides in his life. He has overcome adversity and may be the better man for it. There is no saying just how far he can go with consistency, love, and stability. Sam is a survivor. He needs an adoptive family that can offer him the patience and support he needs to become the wonderful adult that he clearly shows the potential to become.
