Richard is a bit shy when first meeting people, but opens up warmly when he feels comfortable. He enjoys all sports and would like to become a professional football star. He is musically inclined and plays both guitar and drums. Richard has a very good sense of humor and gets along well with other kids. Richard attends regular classes at school and maintains average grades, although they would likely improve if he were more motivated to complete his work consistently. Counseling is helping him through his feelings of separation and loss and he has made terrific progress. Richard needs to learn to take responsibility for his actions and continue his progress in being respectful to others. Richard has made improvements in many areas of his life and needs the permanence and love of an adoptive family. He is not selective of race, but he would like to have other children near his age in the home. Richard needs the structure, stability, and love of a nurturing family that understands the feelings and issues of children in foster care. It is important that his adoptive family be supportive, yet firm, and have experience with raising children.
