Rick is a 17-year-old boy from Florida who is hoping to be adopted.

Rick is a very intelligent and outgoing young man. He is a little short for his age and on the thin side. What he lacks in size he makes up for in determination. He likes to play with the "big boys" when playing basketball and is commonly the captain of the team when playing other sports like baseball. Rick likes to read and has maxed out the reading scales at his school. He is considered to be reading at the 12th grade level while he is in the 8th grade. He also is proud of the fact that he makes straight A's in school and has good conduct. When talking to Rick be prepared to laugh and learn from a very witty child. Rick helps in the reading lab at his group home by teaching other children how to read. Rick says that he likes animals and wants to have a dog because he finds security and companionship in them. He talks fondly of the "red nose pit bull" he had as a child and how he liked training him about right and left. When asked what kind of books he likes to read Rick said he just got the collective works of Shakespeare and likes acting them out in his mind while reading. He has acted in the past and would like to do that again. Be very careful of what you say around Rick because his vocabulary is outstanding and he can retain information quickly. Rick has been in a group home for some time and hates the "changing standards" he must deal with when shifts change. He wants a home where the parents have reliable and standard expectations (structure). Rick also wants a home where the family attends church.
