Description
Romelo is somewhat shy and quiet at first, but as he warms up to you turns out to be a delightful and easygoing youngster. Once he turns on his sweet smile, you can't help but pay attention! It takes quite a bit to get Romelo excited, but one thing that always makes him smile is being with his sister, Shakyra. Romelo is patient and kind towards others and does not respond in anger unless he is repeatedly provoked. School and daily tasks can be challenging for Romelo, but he benefits greatly from simple and concrete instructions and guidance from his teachers and parents. Romelo's favorite place to eat is McDonalds where he enjoys playing on the playground and eating hamburgers. Romelo spends his free time playing ball outside with his friends and is hoping that his forever family will enjoy playing sports and eating out!
Romelo and Shakyra are very bonded to one another. When they are together, you can see how much they love each other. Romelo is quiet and patient with his sister and even lets her tell him what to do. Shakyra is the leader of the two despite being the youngest. The children have an older brother that they visit at least quarterly although he is not legally free for adoption, so it will important for their adoptive family to maintain this contact. Although Shakyra and Romelo are not currently placed together, they have lived together in the past. Both will need patience and guidance as they transition to their adoptive home and living together once again. Romelo will require more supervision due to his behaviors. Additionally, their adoptive family should be able to carefully monitor Shakyra's tendency to be bossy towards Romelo. The children enjoy playing together at the park, eating at McDonalds and eating ice cream! These two children are a joy to be around and a definite blessing for any family! Romelo's forever family will need to be patient with him as he transitions to his new home. Romelo and his sister would do best in a two parent family that will allow them to maintain contact with their older brother who is placed separately in his permanent home. Romelo's family will be accepting of his limitations while encouraging him to achieve his goals. Romelo would respond best to a family that is nurturing, attentive, active and supportive of his relationships with his siblings. He does well with older and younger children alike, but sometimes struggles with relationships with children his own age. Romelo will need a family who can provide consistent boundaries and supervision.
