Sarah attends regular classes at school where she earns average grades. Sarah has made progress in developing friendships and being redirected back to appropriate conduct. Counseling is helping Sarah remember that she is not the parent and allow the parents to do what is best. She is also learning to think before acting, as well as taking responsibility for her actions. Sarah is a loving child who had to grow up fast, often parenting her younger siblings. She needs reassurance that her adoptive parents will love her and take good care of her. It is important that she be allowed to have contact with her maternal grandmother and birth sisters. An adoptive family for Sarah will understand that a slow transition and family counseling will benefit all, and should help create a positive and permanent family bond. Sarah is a very creative girl and will greatly benefit from a parent who will nurture that creative spark.
