Shain is so much fun to be around. He is of a larger build than his older brother and sometimes is mistaken as the older of the two, much to the chagrin of Patrick. Shain warms up easily to new people and situations. Shain enjoys playing basketball and laser tag. Shain also does well in school and also receives some special services, including speech therapy. He attention span is relatively short. When nervous, Shain will pick at and bite his fingers and lips. He can be headstrong and more determined than his brother. Shain appears to be more affected by past situations and actions of others, than his "big" brother.

Patrick and Shain are a delight to interact with. They both have a great sense of humor and make one another laugh easily. They warm up easily and talk pretty openly with adults. Patrick and Shain attended several camps this summer and had a blast. They talked animatedly about their experiences. Both boys like the computer, video games and riding bikes. They love playing with their foster family's two Great Dane dogs, Beethoven and Molly. Patrick is very protective of his "little" brother, even though he is only 10 months older! Patrick and Shain enjoy going and going and going until they decided they are read to take it easy and lounge around in front of the television. Patrick and Shain have experienced much about life in their short lives. They need a family willing to reinforce healthy boundaries and social interactions. A family who can help them in their continued growth and development and in the processing of past versus future will be an asset. Patrick and Shain desire a family that will be active with them and allow them to participate in extra curricular activities. The boys have stated that they would like siblings but really do best with older children. Patrick and Shain have two older sisters who will not be placed with them in adoption but they would like some contact with them.
