Shaun is a 6-year-old boy from Georgia who is hoping to be adopted.
Deveon and his brother, Shaun, are engaging African-American children born 1/00 and 10/03. Deveon is very athletic and loves to play most sports. He is happiest when he is around other children. Deveon loves to eat, stay active and ride his bike. In regular classes in school, he needs help with staying focused and on task. Deveon’s emotional issues, stemming from early life experiences, cause him to often become distracted. Therapy is in place to help him. Trust is a big issue for Deveon not only because of his birth family but also because of the many adults who have been in and out of his life since he entered foster care. This year he wrote a letter to one of his former teachers and told her that he loved her. This was a huge step for Deveon in reaching out to an adult after all the hurt he has endured. He has had many disappointments in his life and needs a family who will hang in long enough for him to learn to trust again. Shaun is an even tempered and mild mannered child who is well-liked by many. With a creative nature, he has a strong interest and talent for drawing, playing the musical keyboard and singing along with the church choir. Shaun also enjoys playing ball, riding his bicycle, going on car rides and shopping at dollar stores. Enrolled in regular classes, he is eager to learn and follows directions well. Shaun receives special education services to address his significant speech delays and enhance his overall academic performance. Deveon and Shaun need to be placed together. A loving and supportive family who will remain committed to both boys is being sought. Continued contact with a sibling being planned for separately is needed.Siblings
