Her foster parents help her keep her hair nice and fashionable. Stephanie enjoys talking on the phone, watching television, playing on the computer, and writing.
Stephanie attends regular classes at school where she is being evaluated for supportive services. She needs to work on completing assignments and displaying more acceptable conduct in class. She also needs to learn to express her feelings and frustrations in an appropriate way.
Stephanie needs adoptive parents experienced in parenting teens or who understand normal teen behavior. They must understand her past and how it affects her current behavior. It is imperative that the adoptive parents for Stephanie be nurturing, encouraging, supportive, and nonjudgmental about her past. Stephanie needs a family that will protect her and provide her with stability, structure, consistency, and appropriate consequences. The family should have a strong post-adoption program to help them with referrals and support. Stephanie has a sister with whom ongoing contact and visits should be encouraged and supported.
